As a standard, we only broadcast differences in sensor measurements to the PC. This ensures that a large number of sensors can be connected to the same CAN2USB converter, at maximum speed. However, it is also possible to broadcast all sensor measurements to the PC, even when there are no changes (= no event-driven communication). This might reduce the measurement frequency, depending on the number of sensors connected to the CAN2USB converter, and is not recommended.
Without event driven communication, the same measurement will be attempted to be sent over and over at a constant frequency on the CAN bus, which will make the bus full. For example with the Allegro hand, there would be too many measurements, and some measurements will get lost, in a non uniform way, reducing the stability in the communication.
The XELA server will make sure that on the PC side you get measurements at a constant frequency even with event based communication, by default, unless you specify otherwise in the ini file (please refer to details in the Software Manual).
With event-driven communication, the frequency might reduce when a large number of sensors have changes in their measurements, but this is unlikely in practice.
