XELA Robotics Joins Japan’s AIRoA (AI Robot Association) as an Associate Member

XELA Robotics Co., Ltd. (“XELA”), a leader in tactile sensing and AI-driven robotic solutions, has announced it has joined Japan’s AIRoA (AI Robot Association) as an Associate Member.

XELA’s decision to join reflects its alignment with AIRoA’s objective of revolutionizing the technologies used in robot development by integrating AI and robotics, and thereby promoting the deployment of robots across society. Of particular interest is AIRoA’s focus on developing and openly sharing high-quality behavioral datasets, and fostering a collaborative developer community around them. This is an area where XELA believes it can contribute directly.

Tactile data remains one of the most underrepresented modalities in robotics datasets available today, and XELA sees its tactile sensing technology as closing that gap. Joining AIRoA is also, in XELA’s view, an important recognition of the work the company has been doing and of the broader need for tactile sensing within the robotics field.

“It is an honor for us to join such a great initiative alongside so many important players,” said Alexander Schmitz, Founder and CEO of XELA Robotics.
